The Progressive Ladies League of the Philippines (PLL) has been a strong advocate for women's empowerment since its founding in 2004 by Maria Laarni "Lani" Cayetano.

From its initial 1,300 members, the organization has grown to over 16,000 members nationwide, helping women gain financial independence through livelihood programs, business opportunities, and leadership training.
