Taguig City is ushering in a new era of digital learning with the launch of Taguig DigiTech, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at modernizing public school education.

Under the leadership of Mayor Lani Cayetano, the program provides students and educators with essential digital tools, ensuring they are equipped for the demands of a rapidly evolving technological world.

State-of-the-Art Digital Learning Spaces

On February 20, 2025, Taguig City unveiled three cutting-edge learning spaces at the Senator Renato "Compañero" Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School as part of the Taguig DigiTech Program:

Robotics Lab – A hands-on learning space for robotics and automation.

Computer Lab – A hub for coding, programming, and digital literacy.

Digital Classroom – A smart learning environment for interactive and immersive lessons.

These learning spaces represent a significant step towards integrating technology into everyday classroom activities and enhancing students' educational experience.

City-Wide Digital Transformation

As part of the Taguig DigiTech initiative, all 52 public schools in the city will have reliable high-speed internet connectivity, allowing students and teachers seamless access to digital resources.

Every public school classroom is now equipped with SMART TVs, while six pilot schools will feature 406 Interactive Smart Screens for a more engaging learning experience.

The city has also made substantial investments in digital infrastructure and devices, including:

  • 3,000 tablets for digital classrooms, supported by 104 charging carts (two per school).

  • 1,350 laptops for high school computer labs.

  • 1,600 desktops for high school students.

  • 2,451 Samsung SMART TVs installed in 46 public schools.

  • 406 Interactive SMART Screens deployed in six pilot schools.

Developing Digital Literacy and Responsible Internet Use

Beyond upgrading classrooms with advanced technology, the Taguig DigiTech program prioritizes responsible digital citizenship. Students will receive training on ethical online behavior, intellectual property rights, and creating a positive digital footprint.

To further ensure students' online safety, the program includes lessons on Basic Cybersecurity and Digital Safety Measures, equipping them with the skills to identify and avoid online threats such as phishing and malware. From Grade 3 to Grade 12, students will undergo Comprehensive Digital Literacy Training, improving their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through digital tools, educational software, gamification, and coding concepts.

Integration of Advanced Technologies in Education

Taguig DigiTech is more than just an infrastructure upgrade—it is a comprehensive education reform. Digital education will be fully integrated into core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Reading, while selected senior high schools will introduce advanced subjects, including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Multimedia Design.

Teacher Training and Support

To ensure the successful implementation of Taguig DigiTech, the city will provide extensive teacher training programs. Educators will learn how to maximize digital tools, integrate Learning Management Systems (LMS), and utilize data analytics tools to monitor student progress and enhance learning outcomes.

Taguig DigiTech is a bold step toward creating digitally proficient, future-ready graduates. By equipping students with cutting-edge tools and knowledge, the city is ensuring that the next generation is prepared for a technology-driven world. This initiative marks a historic transformation in public education, reinforcing Taguig’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality learning opportunities for all.
