Former Mayor Lino Cayetano has announced his bid to run for Congress, representing the Taguig-Pateros District in the 2025 elections.

In a recent Facebook post, Cayetano also expressed his support for incumbent Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, who is expected to seek a second term.

Cayetano took to social media on Tuesday to address the circulating rumors regarding a possible mayoral race against his sister-in-law, Lani Cayetano.

Lino Cayetano served as the Mayor of Taguig from 2019 to 2022, following a term as the representative of Taguig's 2nd district from 2013 to 2016.

Prior to his congressional role, he was Barangay Chairman of Fort Bonifacio from 2010 to 2013.

Before entering public service, Cayetano was a well-known television director for several popular shows on ABS-CBN.

The Cayetano political dynasty continues to maintain a strong presence in Taguig, with Lani Cayetano currently serving as mayor and Lino poised to re-enter the congressional race.

Lani, who is married to Lino's brother, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, has been a prominent figure in local politics and is widely expected to seek re-election in 2025.
