In response to the potential threats posed by Tropical Storm Kristine, the Department of Education has announced the automatic suspension of in-person classes in the National Capital Region (NCR), including Taguig City.

PAGASA has placed NCR under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, which signals possible rain showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds as the storm approaches.

The suspension covers all face-to-face classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as the Alternative Learning System (ALS) programs in both public and private schools across the city. Schools are advised to shift to alternative learning modes, such as online or modular learning, in compliance with Department of Education (DepEd) guidelines.

The Taguig City government has encouraged residents to stay updated on weather conditions by visiting the Taguig Open Weather & Environmental Reporting System (TOWER). The system provides real-time weather information to help residents make informed decisions and prepare for possible adverse conditions.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as Tropical Storm Kristine could bring heavy rainfall and strong winds in the coming days.

Stay tuned to official updates from PAGASA and local authorities for any further advisories or changes in the storm’s path.
