The local government of Taguig has announced the suspension of classes in all levels, both public and private, on Friday, October 25, 2024, due to severe weather conditions brought by Tropical Storm Kristine.

Although the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal in Metro Manila, including Taguig, has been downgraded to Signal No. 1, an Orange Rainfall Warning remains in effect. This warning, which signals intense rains and potential heavy flooding, has prompted the city to prioritize the safety of students and residents.

Taguig’s local weather service, TOWER, has forecasted stormy conditions in the area, adding to the concern for possible flooding and damage. The class suspension will allow students to stay safe at home while also giving schools time to inspect their facilities for any damage caused by the storm.

Educational institutions are encouraged to implement alternative learning methods as per the Department of Education’s guidelines during the suspension.

The city government advises the public to stay updated on weather reports and to prioritize safety measures throughout the storm’s duration.
