The city of Taguig, through its Nutrition Office, has launched a pioneering initiative in the Philippines by introducing a local version of Finland's baby bag.
FREE Baby Bag
This 3-in-1 foldable baby bag, which can be used as a diaper bag, portable crib, or diaper changing pad, is filled with essential items such as baby soap, alcohol, baby oil, wipes, and diapers.
How to Qualify for a Free Baby Bag
To receive a free baby bag, expectant mothers must meet the following requirements:
1. Complete Four Prenatal Checkups
- One checkup during the first trimester.
- One checkup during the second trimester.
- Two checkups during the third trimester.
2. Get Vaccinated Against Tetanus
- Ensure that you receive the necessary tetanus vaccinations during pregnancy.
3. Deliver the Baby in a Licensed Facility
- The baby must be born in a licensed facility, such as a hospital, certified lying-in center, or Super Health Center.
4. Attend Postnatal Checkups
- After childbirth, attend the required postnatal checkups to monitor the health of both mother and baby.
5. Vaccinate the Baby
- Ensure the baby receives BCG and Hepatitis B vaccines.
6. Register the Baby's Birth
- Register the birth of the baby to obtain a birth certificate.
