In a spectacular collaboration of OPM and K-Pop, the iconic 레드벨벳 (Red Velvet) members, Irene, Wendy and Seulgi, are set to headline an E.P.I.C New Year's Countdown on December 31, 2023, LIVE at 5th Avenue, Bonifacio High Street.
Bonifacio High Street unveiled this exciting news, highlighting Irene and Seulgi as the Red Velvet powerhouse Irene & Seulgi, while also spotlighting Wendy, who made her soloist debut in 2021.
Irene&Seulgi, debuted in 2020 with the EP "Monster," featuring six mesmerizing tracks. Seulgi, having ventured into soloist territory in 2022, and Irene, who dropped "A White Night" in 2021 for her film "Double Patty" opposite Shin Seung-ho, showcase the multifaceted talent within the group.
Wendy, the main vocalist of Red Velvet, embarked on her solo journey in 2021 with the EP "Like Water." In 2023, she lent her vocals to the Korean dub of "Trolls Band Together" as Queen Poppy, solidifying her solo career. The countdown event will also feature performances by esteemed OPM artists Ely Buendia, KZ Tandingan, Zack Tabudlo, and Adie.
Bonifacio High Street hinted at a surprise act with emojis of a dancing woman in a red dress, a cupcake, a bunny, a bear, and a squirrel – representative animals of the three Red Velvet members. The teaser phrase, "They got us feeling like a psycho," adds an air of anticipation.
Notably absent from the BGC countdown lineup are Red Velvet's youngest members, Joy and Yeri. In their latest endeavor, Red Velvet released their first full-length album in nearly six years titled "Chill Kill" on November 13, along with a title track of the same name. The group also made a memorable visit to the Philippines on May 8 for their "R to V" tour, excluding Joy due to health issues at the time.
