The city of Taguig, through the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA Taguig), happily presented a centenarian birthday cash gift of ₱100,000 on September 15.
Because of this gift that is part of Mayor Lani Cayetano's Caring City agenda, Lola Miguela Ramos was filled with joy as she celebrated her 101st birthday this month.
Each centenarian of the city receives a ₱100,000 cash gift when they turn 100 years old and will continue to receive this amount every year until they live.
This is just one of the city's programs for the province's senior citizens. According to their age bracket, Taguigueño senior citizens receive from ₱3,000 to ₱10,000 as a birthday cash gift.
They also receive free medicine for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma; free nursing services at their residence; free wheelchairs, canes and hearing aids.
Apart from their needs, they are given entertainment at the Center for the Elderly. It is a five-story building in Brgy. North Signal with therapy pool, sauna, gym, ballroom area, massage room and cinema.
