In the flag raising ceremony held today, April 24, the public servants of Taguig, led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, welcomed the significant celebration of the 436th anniversary of the founding of the city of Taguig with the theme, "Unlad Probinsyudad ".
Mayor Lani's message was full of inspiration and gratitude. She encouraged Taguigueños to better recognize the origins of Taguig, practice the good behaviors that brought the province's development, and remember the culture and traditions of the city in the midst of modern times.
"We want Taguig to be progressive but never forgetting its history. As we embrace modernity, we also want to pay tribute to our culture and tradition," said Mayor Lani.
On April 25, 1587, Taguig was declared a town under the Provincia de Tondo. From a simple community of farmers and fishermen, Taguig has become a progressive province that maintains traditional occupations and customs while building modern structures and facilities as a highly urbanized city.
As part of the city's anniversary celebration, Mayor Lani and Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit inaugurated the new logos of City Hall departments and offices.
"These new logos are not just to be pleasing to the eyes, but so that we can pour our energy and ingenuity to improve the role of each department. Let's study our roles and offer them to Taguigueños through better services," added the city chief.
As the festival continues, the city will have activities such as the Taguig Sports League and Mutya ng Taguig.
