It's like spring in Taguig!


No need to fly to Japan to see cherry blossom-like views! Visit Laguna Lake Highway (C6 Road) and witness the trees explode with color!



After being propagated beginning 2015, with Mayor Lani Cayetano initiating cultivation of these trees and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office nourishing them, the pink trumpets (scientific name: Tabebuia rosea) are in full bloom along the center island and bike lanes of C6 Road.


The trees now carry light pink to purplish pink flowers.

Pink trumpets are fast-growing trees that can reach a height of 30 meters and a diameter of 100 centimeters. They bloom all year round but shed foliage and present themselves beautifully from January to April.



The City found the variety most suitable to uniformly cover the whole 7.2-km stretch or a total of 21 kilometers covering the center island, and the northbound and southbound bike lanes. It also increases the tree population along C6 Road, a way to address the increasing carbon footprint in the area.
