Inutak is a tasty delicacy from Pateros and Taguig made with ube (purple yam) sandwiched between layers of bibingka (rice cakes). It is usually served for dessert, with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Inutak came from the Tagalog root word “utak” which means brain, first because it has that same consistency and next it that when it broils the top rises to the top and shapes into a brain form.
Aside for having the best hopia in town, Taguigeños are also lucky to have this sweet treats.
As of today, the only store we know where you can buy inutak is in Pateros town proper along Morcilla St. See the maps below:
